trygdareþer (OSw) trygthereth (ODan) noun

In ODan SkL, an oath sworn when receiving compensation for a killing, otherwise known as trygth (q.v.). In OSw SdmL, an oath sworn by the new king directly after being chosen by the lawman and twelve representatives from each jurisdiction; its six articles are given in SdmL Till 1, together with the corresponding oath sworn by the voters.
