landsfogate (OSw) noun

Appears in the phrase konungs landzfogate referring to an official of the king governing an undefined district, his fögheti (see foghati (2)), possibly an entire land (q.v.) 'province', as suggested by the term landsfogate. He was to lead bear, wolf and fox hunting, presumably among other duties.
