Learnt many years ago from Mr Spargo (70 or 80 years ago), Camborne, Cornwall. Carpenter reproduces note after song: 'The words were taken down by Mr Bartle Symons from the singing of Mr Jas Thomas, and are substantially the same as those which he learned when he was a boy from Mr Spargo'.
