MarginaliaIdolatry.Praise thou our Lady O Hierusalem, and glorify her also O thou Syon, for shee buildeth vp thy walles, and blesseth thy chyldren: her grace maketh thee fat, and geueth pease vnto thy coastes. &c.

I could also recite other thinges moe of lyke blasphemy, folowing immediately after this Psalter of our Lady, in the Seraphical doctor aforesayd, as these.

MarginaliaHorrible blasphemy.Ecce domina Saluatrix mea, fiducialiter agam in te, & non timebo. &c. Qui fortitudo mea es tu. &c. Et facta es mihi in salutem. i. Behold O Lady my Sauiour I wyll be bold in thee, and wyll not feare. &c. Because thou art my strength &c. And art become my saluation. &c.

MarginaliaBlasphemy.Quemadmodum infans sine nutrice non potest viuere: ita nec sine Domina nostra possis habere salutem. i. Like as the infant can not lyue without the nource, so neither canst thou haue saluation without our Lady.

Quicunq; vult saluus esse, ante omnia opus est vt teneat de Maria firmā fidem. Quam nisi quisq; integram inuiolatamque seruauerit, absq̀ dubio inæternum peribit. i. Moreouer after these so horrible thynges and vntolerable to bee heard, consequently in the next tractation foloweth the MarginaliaThe Rosary or Garland of our lady, called Corona beatæ Mariæ.Rosary or Garland of our Lady compiled by the sayd Saint Bonauenture: Wherin these wordes are to be read, as foloweth: O Mediatrix betwene God and man, the Lord hath worthely magnified thee, that thou onely shouldest conceaue his sonne. &c. Wherfore O good Mary our mediatrix, mother of Grace, and mother of mercy. &c. And moreouer within few lynes it followeth in these wordes. Therfore O our Empresse & Lady most bountifull, by the autoritie of a mother MarginaliaMary made a commaunder of Christ.cōmaund, cōmaūd (I say) thy welbeloued sonne, that he will stirre vp our minds frō the loue of worldly thinges, to heauēly desires. &c.

Item, O the Aduocate of the miserable, the eyes of thy seruauntes be directed to thee. &c.

To these premisses I might also adioyne the horrible and most blasphemous woordes of the sayd Bonauenture in the sayd booke, Fol. 100. page. 2. col. 1. which I beseech thee to read and note. Quæ maior bonitas quam quòd Christus. &c. i. What greater goodnes can be, then that Christ is content to bee captiue vpon the aultar. Wherupon he speaketh in the person of Ieremy saying: Behold, I am in your handes, do with me as you see good. &c. Where note (sayth hee) that when any Duke or Prince is taken prisoner for his Subiectes, he is not let go before he pay some great summe of money for his raunsome: MarginaliaChrist made a captiue and a prisoner in the Popes Church.Euen so neither we ought to let Christ go out of our handes beyng our prisoner and captiue, except
