Marginalia1555. Iune.cye and thy pitie are great towardes all them that call vpon thy holy name. Blessed be thou O Lady for euer, and thy maiestie for euer and euer. Glorifie her all nations of the earth. &c.

5 Verba mea auribus percipe Domina etc. Conuerte luctum nostrum in gaudium, et tribulationem nostram in iubilationem. Corruant ante pedes nostros inimici nostri: virtute tua eorum capita conterantur. &c.

Heare my words O Lady. &c. Turne our mourning into gladnes, and our trouble into reioysing. Let our enemies fal before our feet, & with thy power dash their heades in peeces.

O Lady suffer me not to be rebuked in Gods anger, nor to be chastened in hys heauie displeasure. &c. From the gate and deepe pyt of hell with thy holy prayers deliuer vs. Let the euerlastyng gates be opened, that we may shewe forth thy marueylous workes for euer. Because the dead: nor they that be in hel shal not prayse the O Lady, but they that shall obtayne by thy grace lyfe euerlastyng.

Make no tarying for thy names sake, to shew thy mercye vppon mee. 9. Confitebor tibi Domina in toto corde meo, & narrabo in populis laudem & gloriam tuam. &c. Inueniant gratiam per te inuentricem gratiæ & salutis: Respirant ad indulgentiam humiles pœnitentes: sana contritiones cordis eorū. &c.

I will geue thankes to thee O Lady with my *Marginalia* Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God vvith thy vvhole hart, vvith all thy strength & povver. &c. Deut. 6. whole hart, and will shewe foorth amongest the nations thy prayse & glory. &c. They shall fynde grace through thee, the finder out of grace and saluation, the humble and penitent grone for pardon and forgeuenes, heale thou thee sores of theyr hart. &c.

11. In Domina confido. &c. Exquirite illam a iuuentute vestra & glorificabit vos. &c. Misericordia illius nostrorum auferat multitudinem peccatorum & fœcunditatem nobis cōferat meritorum. &c.

MarginaliaDerogation of Christes passion.In the O Lady do I put my trust. &c. Seeke her euen from your youth, and she shall glorify you. &c. Her mercye take from vs the multitude of our sinnes, and giue vnto vs plenteousnes of merites. &c.

12. Saluum me fac mater pulchræ dilectionis fons clemēciæ. &c, Gyrum terræ sola circuis, vt subuenias inuocantibus te. &c.

Saue me O mother of Loue, and fountayne of mercye. &c. Thou thy selfe alone hast gone about the compasse of the earth to helpe them that call vpon thee. &c.

13. Vsquequo Domina obliuisceris me & non liberas me in die tribulationis? vsquequo exaltabitur inimicus meus super me? potentia virtutis tuæ contere Ipsum. &c. Magnificamus te gratiæ inuentricem, per quam sæcula reparantur. &c.

How long doest thou forget me O Ladye, and doest not deliuer me in the day of my trouble? Howe long shall myne enemye triumph ouer me? With thy mighty power destroy him. &c. We magnifie thee the fynder & the author of grace, by whom the world is repayred. &c.

16. Conserua me Domina, quoniam speraui in te. &c. Benedicta sint vbera tua quibus *Marginalia* Milke making God. lacte deifico saluatorum enutristi. &c.

Preserue me O Lady for in thee haue I put my trust. &c. MarginaliaYea rather blessed be they which heare the word of God and keepe it.Blessed bee thy brestes which with thy deifying milke diddest nourish the Sauiour, &c.

18. Diligam te Domina cœli & terræ: in gentibus nomen tuum inuocabo. Confitemini illi tribulati corde, & roborabit vos contra inimicos vestros. &c. Religiosi omnes honorate illam, quia ipsa est adiutrix vestra & specialis aduocata. Esto refrigerium nostrum gloriosa mater Christi, quia tu es totius religionis mirabile firmamentum.

I wyll loue thee O Ladye of heauen and earth: I will call vpon thy name among the nations. Confesse your selues vnto her ye that are troubled in hart, and shee shall

strengthen you agaynst your enemies. &c. All ye MarginaliaIdolatrye of the cloysterers.Cloysterers honour her, for shee is your helper and speciall Aduocate. Be thou our refreshyng and rest, for thou art the marueilous foundation of all religion.

20. Exaudi nos Domina in die tribulationis. &c. Ne proiicias nos in tempore mortis nostræ, sed succurre animæ, cum deseruerit corpus suum. Mitte Angleum in occursum eius per quem ab hostibus defendatur. &c. Sentiat in pœnis refrigerium tuum & concede ei locum inter electos Dei.

Here vs O Ladye in the day of trouble, &c. Cast vs not away in the tyme of our death, but succour our soule when it forsaketh the body. Send an Angell to meete it that it may be defended from the enemies. &c. In tormentes and paynes let it feele thy comfort, and graunt to it a place among the electes of God.

25. Ad te Domina leuaui animam &c. Non præualeant aduersū me laquei mortis &c. Ductrix mea esto ad patriā, & me cœtui angelorum digneris aggregare.

To the O Lady do I lift vp my soule &c. Let not the snares of death preuayle agaynst me &c. Bee thou my guide to the heauenly rest, and to the company of Angels associate me.

36. Iudica me Domina, quoniam ab innocentia mea disgressus sum: sed quia speraui in te, non infirmabor. &c.

Marginalia* All iudgement is geuen to Christ alone, and before hym the vergin also her selfe shall be iudged.* Iudge thou me O Lady, for I am fallen from myne innocency: but because I put my trust in thee, therfore I shall not fall. &c.

27. Domina illuminatio mea sit splendor faciei tuæ, &c. serenitas gratiæ tuæ refulgeat menti meæ. &c.

O Lady, let the brightnes of thy face be my light, and let the clearenes of thy grace shyne vnto my minde &c.

28. Ad te Domina clamabo &c. Miserere mei in die angustiæ meæ, & in luce veritatis tuæ libera me.

To thee O Lady will I crye &c. Haue mercy vppon me in the day of my trouble, and in the light of thy truth deliuer me. &c.

31 In te Domina speraui, non confundar in æternum, in gloria tua suscipe me. Tu es fortitudo mea et refugium meum: consolatio mea et protectio mea &c. Educas me de laqueo quem absconderunt mihi quoniam tu es adiutrix mea. In manus tuas Domina commendo spiritum meum.

In thee O Ladye do I put my trust: let me not be cōfounded for euer: in thy glory receaue me. MarginaliaIf our Lady be all in all, then God belyke sitteth idle in heauen.Thou art my strength and my refuge: my consolation and protection, &c. Deliuer me from the snare that they haue layd for me because thou art my helper. Into thy handes I commende my spirite. &c.

34. Benedicam Dominam in omni tempore &c. In periculis, in rebus dubijs inuocate eam, & in necessitatibus inuenietis auxilium &c. Sumite exemplum conuersationis eius & emulamini studia humilitatis eius. Quia ergo Domina humillima fuisti, verbū increatū ex te carnē suscipere coegisti.

I will alwayes prayse our Ladye &c. In perilles, in aduersitie call vppon her and in tyme of neede ye shall finde succour. Let her conuersation be an example vnto you, and follow the vertue of her humilitie. MarginaliaHorrible blasphemy agaynst the Lord.Because therefore, O Lady thou wast humbly & lowly, thou didst compell the word increate to take flesh of thee.

36. Dixit iniustus &c. A malo proposito discedat mater Dei. Inclina vultum Dei super nos: Coge illū peccatoribus misereri &c. Benedictum sit imperium tuum super cœlos: benedicta sit magnificentia tua super terram.

The wicked man sayed &c. Let him departe from hys euyll purpose O mother of God turne the countenance of God towardes vs: *Marginalia* O impious blasphemye. Compell hym to be mercifull vnto sinners. Blessed be thy Impery and dominion in heauen, and blessed be thy magnificence vppon the earth.

45. Eructauit cor meum verbum bonum Domina &c. Per tuam sanctitatem peccata mea purgentur: per tuam integritatem mihi incorruptibilitas condonetur. &c.

My hart is inditing a new matter O Ladye. &c. MarginaliaIf Mary forgeue sinnes, then is our fayth in Christ in vayne.By thy holynes let my sinnes be purged: by thy integritye let me obtayne incorruption. &c.

47 Omnes gentes plaudite manibus &c. Quoniam ipsa est porta vitæ, ianua salutis, & vitæ nostræ reconciliatrix: spes pœnitentium, solamen lugentium, pax beata cordium atq; salus. Miserere mei Domina, miserere mei, quia tu es lux & spes omnium confidentium in te &c.

Clap your handes all ye people. &c. MarginaliaThese wordes stincke of blasphemous Idolatrye.For shee is the gate of lyfe: the doore of saluation: the reconciler of our lyfe: the hope of the penitent: the comfort of the sorrowfull: the blessed peace of hartes, and saluation. Haue mercy vpon me O Lady, haue mercy vpon me, for thou art the light and hope of all that put their trust in thee.
