Sworn and examined deposeth and saith that William Ratcliffe servant to Mr Ratcliffe Alderman and a servant of Sir George Booth’s Knight being between the hours of three and four of the clock yesterday in the afternoon in this examinate’s house drinking there came unto them one David Robinson and saith that after some speeches and foul words passing between them the said said William Ratcliffe struck at the said David Robinson and the same Robinson afterwards struck at the said William Ratcliffe whereupon this examinate having made means to part them asunder advised the said David Robinson being Sexton at St Werburgh’s to go to the Church which he did and saith that thereupon the said William Ratcliffe went out of this examinate’s house after him and followed the said Robinson into the Church as this deponent hath heard and saith he saw him go into the Abbey Court cnd more deposeth not.
