Saith that he this examinate came to this City about a fortnight ago with a purpose to go over into Ireland both to avoid some danger of debt that he is in as also in respect of a hurt which he had done unto a man of Mr Piers Wynne in a quarrel between them and saith that since his coming to this City he hath been with Edward Parrie apprentice to Arthur Figes at the house of correction and hath at several times loosed him down into the quarrel two pottles of ale and a groat’s worth of meat and yesterevening saith that being above on the side of the quarrel the said Edward Parrie told this examinate that he thought he might come into the house whereupon this examinate saith he came down and was suffered to come into the said house and did send for drink and saith that the man of the house was in their company and did drink with them and saith that there went into the house with this examinte Piers Thomas now present.
Examined saith he was born at Ruthin and is married and doth keep a victualling house in Ruthin and came to this City upon Thursday night last and saith that he hath a pension of £4 by year as a maimed soldier according to the statute and that the occasion of his coming to this City was to have gone over into Ireland to a kinsman of his to be one of the guard and saith that he hath been at the house of correction and did loose down drink by a cord unto Edward Parrie apprentice to Arthur Figes and saith that yesterevening he and the former examinate did go into the house of correction and did drink with the said Edward Parrie.
