Examined saith that he came to this City on Saturday last about ten of the clock in the forenoon to buy some wares and bought 3 gross of points and… gartering and pins and other wares. And saith that the woman in his company called Anne is his wife and they lay at a place on this side of the forest at the Sign of the Horn on Friday night, and came this day from Northwich fair, and had lain on Thursday night at the Cock of Budworth, and were now going to Malpas fair, and saith he was never in company nor ever saw the boy in the blueish jerkin now in the Northgate till he saw him in the said prison.
