Sworn and examined saith that upon Friday was sevenight he was at Mr Thomas Wright’s house in company with Mr Christopher Dannall leavelooker Mr Weston Mr Cusack and other Irish merchants and the said Mr Cusack began to speak of the time of the death of his father whereupon the said Mr Weston said that in those times he thought there was more honest dealing amongst men for there were not so many pocket daggers as now there be and immediately after Mr Hugh Whickstead came into the said Mr Wright’s house and the said Mr Wright began to tell Mr Whickstead that Thomas Weston had said that some… in the City had a pocket dagger whereupon the same Mr Whickstead did say to the said Thomas Weston dost thou say that I have any to whom the said Thomas Weston answered No I speak not to you; who sent for you thither to whom Mr Whickstead said I come to my friends to drink a cup of beer with them and then the said Mr Whickstead called the said Mr Weston fool, ass, baboon, and other diverse uncivil names which as they were offered by the said Mr Whickstead against the said Mr Weston the said Mr Weston returned them upon him again saying ass in thy face, or fool in thy face, then Mr Whickstead a little after bid Mr Weston kiss him behind, and said I have lived by thy father and have seen an end of him and to this examinate’s remembrance he said I hope to see an end of thee and further said I will haunt thy body and thy purse although my wife and children far the worse at which words Nr Weston desired that god might forgive him and turn his heart and more saith not.
