Sworn and examined saith that upon Tuesday last being Michaelmas last there came into his house two strange women whose name he knows not between ten and eleven o’clock of the same day and brought in with them a piece of linen…. And afterwards the said Harvey and the said woman went forth together but the said Harvey returning to this deponent’s house about 2 hours after took one part of the said cloth away and the other piece the said Harvey left behind him in pawn for drink and victuals that the said Harvey and woman had called for… and the next morning being Wednesday the woman that brought in the cloth gave a part thereof to the said Harvey came into this deponent’s house and sat her down by the fire and called for a quart of drink but before this deponent could well speak with her the said Kuey and Plombe came to this deponent’s stair head and the said Kuey said to him neighbour god send you come to no further trouble about the said cloth to whom this deponent answered he was very glad of their coming for the said woman which brought in the said cloth was now in his cellar and they the said Kuey and Plombe bade this deponent keep the said woman till they had taken toll of a gentleman which sold ware[s] on this deponent’s head and this deponent stayed the said woman till the said Kuey came and took the woman by the shoulder and said a whore thou shalt be hanged the woman then cried and said a Mr I be hanged yea said the said Kuey thou wilt cut a purse anon and be hanged so they went all forth together and this deponent thought the said Kuey had brought her to Mr Mayor or to prison.
