That upon Monday last was fortnight being the fifteenth day of this instant January or thereabouts he being sent to the Mitre Tavern in this City to enquire for one John Bradley found him in the said house and there were in company with the said John Bradley Mr Ralph Whittaker of this City ironmonger one Mr Francis Martin and one… Harrison and this deponent saith that when he came into the chamber to them he found the said Bradley washing his hands and believes they had been fighting and shortly after the said Bradley demanded his hanger of the said Harrison and he refused to deliver it whereupon the said Harrison and Bradley fell a fighting and this deponent and others parted them and afterwards this deponent saw the said Bradley Ralph Whittaker Francis Martin and the said Harrison all together scuffling at the end of the table in the said chamber and immediately after the said Bradley had parted from the said scuffle he said he was wounded and told this deponent that he believed the said Martin gave him the wound and the said Bradley bade this deponent and others to secure the room and thereupon the said Francis Martin went his way out of the said room.
Sworn and examined saith… John Bradley in the preceding deposition mentioned came to this deponent’s house late in the evening and told this deponent he had received a wound and desired him to look upon it and dress it and thereupon this deponent did look upon it and found that he had received a wound in the manner of a stab upon his left side.
