Maketh oath that… before the quarrel happened between the said John Price and John Allenson about a month ago she heard the said John Allenson say of the said John Price as he passed through the house of Widow Cottingham in the City of Chester to his room in the said house that he was a rogue and a rascal for hearkening what Mr Doe had said and Mr Price hearing… returned back again and asked who it was that called him rogue and rascal to which this deponent made answer that it was the company that sat by the fireside whereupon a quarrel happened between the said Mr Price and the said Allenson and one Wilson who was in company with the said Allenson.
