Thomas Hammond
Thomas Hammond Constable of Bury upon his oath informeth this Court that John Allen of Bury having been found by him the said Constable tippling in the night time in the house of Thomas Nuttall of Bury alehousekeeper and being admonished thereof and desired to depart the said John continued in the said house a full hour after with his company, who demanding of him the said John what the laws were; told them he now knew not, they were New Modellised and Cromwellised... and that this day he the said John Allen came to him the said Constable in open sessions in jeering manner asking how his worship did calling him knave in open Court.
