Elizabeth Hulme
This informant deposeth upon her said oath that on Tuesday last John Crompton William Penbury Roger Norsley and Robert Brooks came into the house of James Hulme of Manchester innholder, and desired to know if any person was playing at shovelboard, James Hulme answered no they desired to play one game accordingly did and called for a quart of ale the first three came down and told them, that the other man would pay them for it they offered to pay 2 pence and told them they might get the other as they could, upon that they struck Elizabeth the daughter of James Hulme several times and Elizabeth his wife in a barbarous manner and further saith not.
