The said examinate deposeth and saith that on Saturday the 6th day of this instant October William Bury of Toddington aforesaid yeoman did make rescue of a bay mare from him this examinate which he then had distrained upon being the goods of him the said William Bury by virtue of a warrant to him directed under the hand and seal of the said John Greenehalgh for the sum of three shillings and four pence forfeited by him the said William Bury for tippling and drinking contrary to the statute in that case provided and further saith that before he made the said distress he made demand of the said money of him the said William Bury and showed him the said warrant, and afterwards was rescued as aforesaid and had the said mare taken on him this examinate by the said Bury by force.
