Upon his oath informeth and saith, that he yesterday (being the Sabbath day) did repair and go to the house of Ralph Mather an inhabitant and the other constable thereof, and an alehousekeeper: to see and take notice what order and government the said Ralph kept in his house. And that he took along with him Richard Turner and Richard Fish, who all came to the said Mather's house, about five or six of the clock in the evening, where he then found one John Lowe a common piper, piping, and some dancing, and others looking on or drinking: in all to the number of twenty persons at the least: and he further saith that he asked the said Mather, why or how he kept such piping dancing and company on the Sabbath day, he made answer, that he would answer it: and he lastly saith, that he and one Forster did on the Sabbath day before, being the last day of June, go to the said Mather's house where and when they found the said piper piping: and some company who stood about him.
