Informeth and saith upon oath that he having been from home upon business and coming home upon Friday in the afternoon last past, did find in his house four Scottish men which as this informer did perceive had been drinking there, and had upon some occasion this informer knoweth not what broken two drinking glasses and one cup, after which John Marsh neighbour to this informer coming into the said house Robert Browne one of the said Scottish men did enter into very violent terms, and said unto the said John Marsh if he had him upon the field he would beat him and if he had the carter meaning Richard Platt there he would beat him also, and further this informer saith he did perceive the said four Scottish men combine themselves together the aforesaid enterprise to perform, and thereupon did take forth of the said house one... club or staff seven foot in length or thereabouts as this informer thinketh.
