The information of Nicholas Friet of Colveston concerning the behavior of John Hoffell alias Smith of Didlington on May even last at the house of one Richard Deye of Attleborough alehouse-keeper... First he saith that after John Hoffell alias Smith had been in the house of Richard Deye a while, he offered some violence to one Margaret Buck of London dwelling in the parish of St Mary Matfellon alias Whitechapel in the county of Middlesex, to carry her towards a cupboard standing in the said house, which Margaret misliked, and thereupon John called her whore and many other names, whereupon Margaret struck John. And John taking her by her hands beat her therewith, and so following of Margaret from room to room, until she came into the chamber where her sister, the wife of Richard Deye, lay sick, and there pushing her away, John hit the breast of Margaret, whereupon she lay very ill for a certain time.
