By accident happening into the company of one Mr Thomas Eade of Kelshall in the said county he the said Mr Thomas Eade did then produce to this deponent a letter subscribed by the arlate William Dowsing, Thomas Sherman and William Meeke, the contents thereof agreeing with the former libel mentioned in the articles and subscribed in the same manner and form by the said William Dowsing, Thomas Sherman and William Meeke and written as this deponent verily believeth by the same hand for that he this deponent at the time of this his examination repaired [there] together and further saith that that he this deponent believes that the same was conceived by the arlate William Dowsing for that the said Mr Eade who is very honest and worthy person did declare to this deponent that he had the same paper (which he this deponent left in the hands of Mr William Locker notary... the scribe in this cause sufficiently constituted) at a public house in Peasenhall there being then no Laxford man present save John Dowsing brother of the said William Dowsing which said William Dowsing of this deponent's certain knowledge hath had a very grave unkindness to the producent for these several years and did in angry and railing manner say that if the producent would not forbear to read the second service at the communion table he would not go no more to hear him which words he uttered in a very angry manner and further saith that there are diverse other papers of the same contents of the former libel mentioned in these articles dispersed abroad.
