Upon Saturday last was five weeks Henry Hall called Alice Ringstead whore and told her that she had been fuckt by as many men as there was then in the market tho' she had no children, it being then market day and about 20 or 30 men then in the market. Which words were spoken in the market about 2 or 3 in the afternoon of the said day in the presence of him this deponent and of John Clarke and several others.
Upon a Saturday about Midsummer last but the certain day of the month he doth not remember being at the shop of Anthony Ringstead husband to the producent Alice Ringstead in Holt where was also Hall, between which Anthony Ringstead and Hall there arose a difference about measuring of a flagon and a great many angry words passed between them. Hall took upon the flagon to carry it away and measure it upon which Anthony Ringstead followed him in order to get his flagon again. Then Alice Ringstead desired her husband to come away. Upon that Hall told the producent that tho she had no children she had lain with as many men as were then in the market... Which words were spoken in the market in the presence and hearing of ten or dozen several persons and that there were then in the market about 20 men.
