That you the said Roger Tovey for and during these three two at least one year last past have been and are a common haunter and frequenter of alehouses within the parishes of Davenham and other parishes and places adjoining, and within the same time and places have divers and several times been drunk, and namely in the time of the general fast appointed by the King's Majesty for fasting and prayers… had for… the great and grievous sickness of the plague, you the said Roger Tovey were several times at least once unfast and divers very drunk at least so far with drink spent and distempered that you could not supply your duty at the said fast, but did give great scandal and offence to the… assembled and other well affected people.
