That in all or each of some of the months in the said year 1635 and during your said office of Churchwarden, you the said Stubbs have been and are a frequenter and haunter of alehouses and upon divers and many at least some Sundays, at time of divine service and... you the said Peter Stubbs have been in alehouses tippling and drinking and absent from the church, and amongst others, you were one Sunday in the company of several persons tippling and drinking in the house of Margaret Bradshaw widow situated within the... chapelry of Peover, all the time of evening prayers, and there continued until far in the night, to the evil example of others and peril of his own soul.
