The said Peter Minshall within the time aforesaid hath sent his man with a horse or mare to fetch the said Margaret Whittingham and to bring her unto him; and the said Margaret hath been in company with Peter Minshall in the house of Elizabeth Wallis widow which was and is an alehouse, and since the said Richard Whittingham and the said Margaret is wife were married together, the said Margaret hath met the said Peter Minshall, at the said Elizabeth Wallis's house, and hath paid vid or some other money for ale or beer for him... The said Peter Minshall and Margaret Whittingham within the time aforesaid have been together in alehouses, or some alehouse, in this the town of Minshall, and namely at the house of one Thomas Minshall: and the said Peter Minshall hath enquired for the said Margaret Whittingham, and said he would go to her where she was, or he would pull down or break down the door, or words to that effect... And within the years and months aforesaid a public voice, fame, and common report that the said Peter Minshall and Margaret Whittingham hath lived incontinently together.
