That one afternoon in the time of barley harvest 1725 last past Mr Robert Smith and John Garwood alias Garrall... together with some other parishioners were drinking together at the sign of the King's Head in Brooke, arlate, where this deponent was a servant, when amongst other discourse between the said Mr Smith and Mr Garwood alias Garrall, she heard Mr Garwood say to Mr Smith I desire you would come for your tithe, to tithe it, and carry it away, for his, the said Garwood's wife's fowl would stray and devour it all, to which Mr Smith replied he would fetch it.
