He has known Rombold since Christmas last and Anne Love since her birth... Since Christmas last past Thomas Rombald came to the house of Francis Francklin in Attlebrigge as a suitor to Anne Love this deponent's sister in the way of marriage and had often conference with her concerning the same, Francklin and his wife the said Anne her mother being very well pleased therewith and much affecting Rombald's suit. And Anne Love often repaired unto the house of Rombald in Norwich and continued with him between Easter and Whistuntide last at Rombald's house ten days and nights together with the consent of her mother and father in law... This deponent was in his said father in law's house, the foresaid Francklin in the parish of Attlebrigge when the articulate brewster did bring the bottle of wine articulate and said that Rombald his master did send the same to Anne Love as a token of his good will... In Shrovetide or the beginning of Lent last past this deponent was present with Rombald in the bedchamber of Anne Love this deponent's sister in Attlebrigge when and where Rombald seeming somewhat importunate to have an absolute answer from Anne in this deponent's hearing demanded of Anne if she were content to marry with him who answered aye and said that she was content to marry him only, whereupon Rombald gave her a piece of gold of 5 in token of his good will, which she kindly and thankfully accepted... When Anne had continued at Norwich some days together as before he hath deposed at her departure from Rombald, she the said Anne and the said Thomas did plight their troth either to other and Anne said that she would marry Rombald or no man and would have him to her husband, which words were spoken by Anne in the house of Thomas Rombald in Norwich in the wine cellar of the said house, being drinking a cup of wine before her departure, with Thomas then present, this deponent, Thomas Brewster his contest and Anne Rombalds the said Thomas's kinswoman... This deponent was present in the house of Rombald when Henry Varsley brought home the gown and saw Anne Love fit the same on her back and saw likewise a taffeta hat bought for Anne Love to her own liking.

Thomas Rombald was a suitor unto Anne in the way of marriage as before he hath deposed... And Anne having continued a certain time with Rombald in his house, at the time of her departure from Rombald being three weeks before Midsummer, Rombald taking Anne by the hand demanded of her if she would take him to her husband, Anne then answered that she would take him the said Rombald to her husband and would forsake all men in the world and would only take him to her husband, which done Rombald then likewise said that he would forsake all women in the world and would take her only to his wife and thereupon they kissed each other; and further saith Rombald in confirmation of the premises did there give Anne an English crown of gold, and so drinking a cup of wine parted either from other, which words were spoken and done as before he hath deposed in the house of Rombald in Norwich in the presence of this deponent, Thomas Collen his contest and others.
Thomas Rombald since Shrreovtide last went divers times as a suitor unto Anne Love in the way of marriage unto the house of Francis Francklinge and his wife within the parish of Attlebrigge and Francklinge and his wife brought Anne Love in their company unto the house of Rombald in Norwich greatly affecting to compass a marriage between the said parties as appeared to this deponent by the kindness, love and goodwill Anne bare and showed unto Thomas Rombald with the consent of her friends and parents, which this deponent knoweth for that he was for all the said time and still is a servant to Thomas Rombald... This deponent carried a bottle of wine unto Anne Love being at her father's house in Attlebrigge, being sent by Thomas Rombald this deponent's master whither being come after commendations delivered from his master unto the mother of Anne and having likewise delivered his bottle of wine this deponent demanded which maid it was (he never having seen Anne Love) that Thomas his master should marry and have to wife, to which question Anne Love then standing by answered, it is I, sending thanks and commendations back unto this deponent's master by him this deponent for his kindness showed to her and gave this deponent that night friendly and kind entertainment for his pains... Since Easter last past Anne Love having continued a sevennnight together day and night at the house of Rombald, at her departure home to Attlebrigge promised Rombald that she would have no other man unto her husband and would forsake all the world and take him to be her husband and thereupon they kissed each other, which words were spoken in the wine cellar of Rombald in Norwich, being there drinking a cup of wine together before her departure, then and there present this deponent, Anne Rombald and Thomas Bubbinge his precontest... There was bought for Anne Love a gown of honey grogram, which was brought home and fitted on the back of Anne by Henry Versey, a taffeta hat, a girdle which cost as Francis Rombald told this deponent 6s 8d, a pair of trunk shoes and a pair of stockings, which were bought by Thomas Rombald, Anne did wear the same stockings of the certain sight of this deponent.
