That in December to this deponent's now remembrance of the time Richard Hawarden and Katherine Leigh arlate came to the house of the arlate Henry Tilston this deponent's contest and being by the said Henry reputed for man and wife in one and the same bed and further saith that he this deponent is persuaded in his conscience that the said Hawarden did then carnally know the said Katherine and they committed adultery together.
That in December arlate Richard Hawarden and Katherine Leigh were together in this deponent's house and entertained by him being by this deponent reputed and taken for lawful man and wife and saith they the said Richard and Katherine had a chamber to themselves without the intercourse of any but when pleased them and continued there for four or five days until this deponent understood that she was another man's wife and further said he believeth they the said Richard and Katherine had carnal knowledge of the bodies of each other and committed adultery together... The said Richard and Katherine lay in one and the same bed during the time of their abode at this deponent's house and at that time were familiar together.
Saith one morning a little before Christmas last he came to speak with Richard Hawarden specified in these articles to the house of Henry Tilston in Chester and thereupon went up to the chamber where the said Richard did lie and then did find the said Richard Hawarden and Katherine Leigh likewise specified in these articles in bed together and no one else in the chamber nor any other bed in the chamber in which they lay... Further saith that this deponent is persuaded in his conscience they had committed adultery together and also saith the said Katherine was then with child as this deponent verily believes begotten by the said Hawarden.
That the arlate Katherine Leigh being asked by this deponent who was the father of the child she was great with answered that Hawarden arlate had begotten that child... That about a fortnight before Christmas last past the defendants Katherine Leigh and Richard Harwarden were entertained by this deponent's husband Henry Tilston and lodged in his house for five or six nights together being by her husband and this deponent reputed for lawful man and wife and saith they the said Hawarden and Leigh has a chamber to themselves without the intercourse of any save only those who best pleased them wherein they lay together during their abode there. And further saith this deponent is greatly persuaded that the said Hawarden and Leigh had carnal knowledge of the bodies of each other and committed adultery together.
