He was in company with the parties before said at Ralph Tongue's house drinking upon Wednesday last in the evening as he supposeth: where he heard William Massie utter to the said Randulph and Michael Bavand that their father was the greatest enemy he had in his troubles, and that he had bound him to the peace, and that their brother Lloyd said in the Pentice that one rogue meaning Michael Bavand was gone to Ireland and would be hanged and he would or was going after and would likewise be hanged, for they were all rogues, rascals and villains, upon which speech the said Michael used great oaths and speeches that he would go to his brother Lloyd's house and talk him with other… speeches and uttered one to another that if any of them have a penny the others should have the one half thereof with other such like talk, and saith that the said Nicholas Massie uttererd these words to them that their father charged and reported that his son would set his house on fire, but willed Michael Bavand that he would utter none of these speech but that all those matters might… away, and no further spoken thereof that no reasoning might be had hereafter.
Saith that he heard William Massie say to the said Randall and Michael Bavand that being in the Pentice their brother Lloyd said there that there was one rogue in Ireland meaning by the said Michael, and he the said William was going after, and that they would both be hanged and called there rogues and rascals, whereupon the said Michael was in great heat and swore, that he would go to Mr Lloyd's house and would justify those words he would stab him.
