Examined touching her said lewdness saith… that this examinate and the stranger were in that house together alone and that the said Johann Downing did fetch a pot of ale to them for which this examinate gave the money and when they were in the house the said stranger said in the hearing of the said Johann that he had tokens to deliver unto the said Mary from a friend of hers in Ireland whereof he well have now to be given… and so saith the said Johann went out of the house and immediately after her departure saith the stranger did lock the door and sat down upon the bed and so began to tell this examinate of her friend in Ireland and as they were talking together saith the said Farrington did knock at the door: but saith for any unlawful or unhonest act or deed she was not culpable nor to be blamed she saith also that she had seen the said stranger before.
Saith that the said Mary willed this examinate to let the said stranger come into her house and to send her word when he was come which this examinate did accordingly and saith when they were in this examinate's house the said Mary gave this examinate money and sent her for a pot of ale and when she had fetched it this examinate heard the stranger say that he had seven tokens to deliver to Mary from a friend of hers in Ireland… and so this examinate saith she went out of the house and left the door wide open.
