Sworn and examined deposeth and saith that in March last being in company with Robert Lloyd gentleman within the City at several places within the same the said Mr Lloyd entreated this deponent to accompany him to his house which this deponent did accordingly and that in their passage and going near unto his house the said Mr Lloyd touched John Moran in coming near him as this deponent conceiveth against his will for this deponent saith it was late in the night and so dark that one could scarce discern the other, but notwithstanding the said Moran apprehending the said Lloyd in an ill sense presently seemed distracted and asked him why he touched or nudged him and then told him he was a dunce a loggerhead a fool a bald pate and used other undecent speeches which particularly this deponent cannot further remember and offered to have followed the said Mr Lloyd but was persuaded by this deponent to the contrary and then stayed in the row until Mr Lloyd came forth again… saith also That yesterday last past this deponent coming out of the house of the said Mr Lloyd from dinner in company of the said Lloyd the said Moran being in the row near his own and the said Mr Lloyd's house asked him dost thou accuse my son with the stealing of thy napkin… and further said thou art a loggerhead a fool a dunce and a bald pate with other like words unseemly… and the said Lloyd seeming willing to depart from the said Moran he then more earnestly followed and continued in using undecent and opprobrious words and speeches towards the said Lloyd and this deponent offering to pacify and persuade the said Moran he thrust and put this examinate from him and said he would follow the said Lloyd whither so ever he went this day and did then put of his gown and in most scornful and deriding manner and saluted him saying god save you loggerhead god save you bald pate with other such like words, and then… the wife of the said Moran offered to persuade him and so then put her from him and threw her down, and follow did follow the said Mr Lloyd to the Milk Stoops, and saith that he heard the said Moran say that the said Lloyd marred or spoiled the King's Sabbath with false Latin and more saith not, saving he saith that he used many other undecent speeches which he this examinate cannot precisely remember.
