John Mace
They being at the Sign of the Flowerdeluce in the foresaid parish [St Julian] yesterday with divers other persons drinking a pot of beer (or two) about two or three o'clock in the afternoon. And there being a discourse about the late election in the said City and of the several persons that did ride that day for the Recorder of the said city, Robert Davy esquire, one Edmund Nockalls did say of Philip Stebbing esquire (who was one of them that did ride as others did in the Recorder's chair) that the said Philip Stebbings was a pitiful rogue.
