Examined saith that upon Wednesday night last about 8 of the clock Thomas Lloyd John Sires and Paul Lloyd came to this examinate’s house, and sent this examinate’s wife for this examinate (being then in his shop) to come to them, and then requested this examinate to go along with them to Edward Farror’s house in Handbridge, whither they went accordingly and continued there drinking of ale and making merry by the space of an hour or thereabouts, and saith that during that time they drunk 12d or 14d worth of ale, whereof this examinate paid 4d, and afterwards, this examinate in regards the said persons begun to be something disordered, and to sing and to ball in the house, and being far in the night this examinate left then and went to his own house, and afterwards this examinate, being told that a piece of timber was cast over Dee Bridge by some of the forenamed persons, went the next morning after to the said Paul Lloyd and demanding of him whether he had cast the said piece of timber on the bridge, the said Paul Lloyd did confess that he the said Thomas Lloyd and John Sires had cast it over but said that it was so heavy that they had much to do to cast it over, and saith further that the said three… named persons, before they went from this examinate’s to the said Farror’s drunk 14d or thereabouts which they left unpaid for and more saith not… the same night after this examinate had left the said persons, John Owen and Humfrey Jones tailors came to the said Farror’s house to the other persons, And saith further that one Dammars Midock who had formerly told this examinate of the piece of timber that was cast over the bridge, told him… that the said three forenamed persons and the said John Owen and Humfrey Jones came by her house upon the Thursday morning about five of the clock and that she heard them swaggering and swearing and said that they were true born, or such like words, and saith she saw them go standing all together near the Sign of the Lamb.
