He went on the ist of December in the evening to one John Lusher house alehousekeeper in St Martins at Palace to drink a pot of beer and there was several persons drinking, amongst whom was one Robert Pitcher and Nicholas Pitcher of the parish aforesaid. Robert Pitcher called for a pot of drink and drank to Shippe and said. Here's King James's health, God bless King James. And Nicholas Shippe called for a pot of beer and drank the said King's health, saying God bless King James. The informant said [to] Mr Pitcher that he marveled he should do so and that he could find in his heart to inform of him. Pitcher replied and said, God damn me, ye are a rogue if you do and a rogue if you don't. And further said that if Mr Mayor were there he would drink the health before him.
