Mary Mayes
About a fourteen day since John Shepard and his wife being before the present Mr Mayor about drawing of beer without licence, and coming home and appearing very high in their discourse saying that they would draw beer for all Mr Mayor, the said deponent's husband told Sarah Shepard that if Mr Mayor would not cool her, he would see what the Recorder could do for he was now at home, the said Sarah Shepard replied and said, Tell Mr Recorder kiss my arse, for she would do what she list for all him and that she did not care for the Mayor or any other of the magistrates.
