Samuel English
The 8th of November last past they went in the evening to one John Lusher's house alehousekeeper in St Martin at Palace to drink a pot or two of beer. And there was one Matthew Howard of St Helen's parish and others drinking at the house aforesaid. The informants Samuel English and Henry Gray did hear Matthew Howard and others discoursing about the late King James and our King William. And Matthew Howard declared to the whole company, saying that there was no King but what was chosen by the rebels that were rebels to the late King James. And Samuel Gare sayeth that he heard such words aforesaid or words to that effect, that is, there was no King but what was chosen by the rebels that were rebels to the late King James.
