As he is petty constable of St Stephen's Ward and go about in the same ward to see after and prevent disorders in alehousekeepers he has gone on several Sundays last past about and that in sermon time he has found drinking and tippling at John Dinch's house without St Stephen's Gates several persons, and there has continued drinking and tippling most part of the afternoon of the same day. And he further saith that he had a warrant came to his hands for the apprehending of a person in Dinch's house not long since and going in and taking the person by virtue of the said warrant in Dinch's house, John Dinch said to the deponent that if he had been advised of it that he should not have executed that warrant for the Mayor had nothing to do there and that he did not care a pin for the Mayor.
