This informant saith that he being at the house of Thomas Fransham in St Peter of Mancroft alehousekeeper, one John Beckham came into the same room to drink and while he was there one Mr Joseph Sabberton, being in the same room, speaking of the Duke of Marlborough, he asked John Beckham what he had to say against him. He said he remembered William and this Informant said, surely it might be King William. But the said Beckham said he was an usurper, was he not. And Beckham being asked why he made those reflections he said there was no more usurpers than he.
