Peter Fowler
Some time before the last Shrovetide he was at Peter Fowler's house alehousekeeper, and there was some discourse about the King of France by the persons that were there, who was the housekeeper and himself, John Talberd, Thomas Bond, and the others. And Peter Fowler the housekeeper, that is now at Mr Mayor's, with a glass of beer in his hand went down his knees, and drank a health to James the third, wishing the crown well settled on his head, and the rest of the persons that were there drank the foresaid health on their knees. And he further saith that before the foresaid health was drank, Peter Fowler said that he should be made a colonel when the King of France had settled the Prince of Wales in this kingdom.
