belongs to any particular Person or persons, as also whether any thing thereof doth of
right belong to the benefit of the Common-wealth; And whether there be any thing
to be considered of to be brought into an Act, and reported to the House, that so
right may be done to all, and neither any particular person, nor the Common-wealth
to be prejudiced hereby.
ORdered by the Commons in Parliament assembled; That the Committee of the Navy
be injoyned to give an account on Friday morning next, of their proceedings concerning
the first foure hundred thousand pounds, charged collateally on the Excise together with
the Bishops lands, and touching the Receiyts of the Excise.
2. Ordered, Sec. That Col. White, Col. Harison, Sir william Mussam, Mr. Burrell,
Mr. Henry Martin, Mr. Wild, Major Saloway, Mr. Francis Peerepoint, Commissary
Generall Ireton, Mr. Francis Rouse, Sir William Strickland, Mr. Christopher Martin,
Mr. Luke Hodges, Mr. Saloway junior; Sir Peter Wentworth. Mr. Love, Mr. Reynolds,
Major Generall Skippon, Col. Lassells, Sir Edward Bainton, Mr. Apsley, Mr. Leoman,
Mr. Purefoy, Mr. Peter Temple, and Mr. Hallowes, be added to the Committee of the
Navy.

The same persons are also added to the Committee of the Excise.
The Petitions of the Creditors of Sir Peter Temple was this day read. Also A Petition
from himself, and also from his wife were all read. The house considered of the
businesse of Intales, and other things expressed in the Petitions. And after debate
upon the whole, it was ordered to be referred to the Committee to whom the Act for
prisoners is referred, where Col. Rigby hath the Chaire, to examine the whole businesse,
concerning those cases, and if they find cause, then to bring in a particular Act or Acts,
for such particular cases.
Another Committee also was chosen to bring in a Generall Act for publique cases,
and to report it with all speed; and the house passed Instructions for the said Committee.
ORdered by the commons assembled in parliament, That it be referred to the Committee
for removing obstructions in the Excise, to consider of the 6000.l. formerly ordered for
the repaire of the Walls and Fortifications of Hull, whether it be discharged from the Excise.
Cap. Hurison, with Capt, Mildmer, Capt. Reines, and Capt. Ball, gave chase to
a ship, Which was three Leagues of head of them, and after foure houres, having a
fresh wind, and the Frigots going well, they got up with him, found her to be a States
man of war. Capt. Barker being Commander, bound for Waterford to fetch home two
of their ships taken by the Irish, (as said his orders from the States) But upon search
we found in him, Captain Paul Watts, formerly of Portsmouth. Lievt. Col. Cleark,
Commander under the late King, Capt. John Wright, (with a Commission from the
Prince) recommended to Ormond, to have the command of a Ship or Frigot. Capt.
Harris, and one Wescot, formerly Corporall to Sir John Minne and about them severall
Letters to Ormond and Rupert, they are sent Prisoners to Pendennis Castle.
An Act passed this day, and was ordered to be ingrosed for 20000 l. per Annum to be
paid out of the Revenue of the late Kings Lands, &c. for maintenance of Ministers,
Schollers, and Masters of Colledges: the particulars whereof I gave you in the Votes
which were printed in the Occurrences of 18 of April last.
