Zona (whose daughter is weddied to the youngest
Son of Don Lewis de Haro) is made Vice-Roy in
Sicilie.
From Rome August 18.
The Edict, which the Pope made, that none
of his kindred of Friends should receive any guifts
is revoked; thereupon Bribes and presents are
brought in plentifully.
The Pope hath bestowed an Abby on Cardinal
Chifs, worth 800 Crowns yearly Revenews, and
out of the Archbishoprick Carpentrais, situated in
France, which belonged to Cardinal Bicbi, deceased,
1500 Crowns to be taken out of the rents,
which the aforesaid Chisi is to enjoy also. Sir
Biazze and others were banished out of the City
two days ago for publishing some secrets of several
Cardinals and Prelates.
The season of the year is very hot, so that
the People are not seen to walk in the day but
by nights, to refresh themselves with the Cool
aire.
The Granaries are filled again by the Popes
command, though the Harvest was very small this
year.
Cardinal Retz is expected here, and cannot
prevaile to work out his Peace with the King
of France,
