Mercurius politicus, Number 316, 26th June-3rd July 1656 E.494[8]

Kyne and sheep, and found guilty thereof,
by an assise, conform to his own Confession, was
adjudged to be taken upon May 3 to the ordinary
place of execution at Glasgow, there to bee strangled
till he be dead, and afterward his Body to bee
burnt to ashes, and his goods to be Escheat for the
use of the Commonwealth; and the Mares, Kyne
and sheep with whom he polluted himself, to bee
searched for, killed and burnt.
Christian Mathie, convict of severall Adulteries
with marryed men, she herself being a marryed
Woman; viz. For adulteries committed by her
with Robert Hill a marryed man, to whom she bare
3 Children; with Patrick Hodge, to whom shee
bare[unr] one Child; with Alexander Brackanrege a
marryed man, to whom she bear two children; shee
was ordered to be hanged on Wednesday May 7.
John Buchanan accused of stealing sundry horses
and Mares, was found guilty, and hanged at the
ordinary place of execution, May 8.

David Old, and Agnes Dick his Wives brothers
daughter for Incest with other, confest judicially,
and found guilty thereof by an Assise, ordained on
the first Wednesday of June next to the ordinary
place of execution for the Burgh of Air, and there
betwixt two and four hours in the afternoon, to be
hanged till they be dead, and all their moveable
