A Swiss knight, member of the knightly Münch family from Basel. He and his brother Brokart were vassals of duke Rudolph of Lorraine. He is mentionned in documents from 1322, 1323, 1330 and 1345 and died during the Battle of Crécy, where he was one of the knights who, according to Froissart, led king John the Blind into the heat of the battle.
