Implead. To sue (a person, etc.) in a court of justice, raise an action against.
In mercy. The state of being liable to a fine or amercement; an amercement, a fine.
Indenture. A form of contract between two or more parties. Originally, such deeds of agreement were drawn up as two or more copies on a single parchment, then cut in such a way that the matching of the pieces could be used as a test of authenticity.
Ings. A common name in the north of England, and in some other parts, for a meadow; esp. by the side of a river and more or less swampy or subject to inundation.
Inquisition. A legal or judicial inquiry to ascertain or decide a matter of fact, made by a jury in a civil or criminal case.
