skin (OSw) noun

In the northernmost OSw laws, hunting for fur was economically important and a basis for taxation. In HL they appear as annual taxes paid in twælyt skin ‘two-coloured pelt’ and blaskorin skin ’blue-cut pelt’ permanently substituting the leþunger ’levy’. For skin-taxes in DL see bælskin, leþungsskin, vighramannaskin.
