The Ordinance allowes the commissioners a moneths time to
begin and determine this great Work,
Resolved upon the Question. That the Lords and commons
in Parliament do declare and adjudge that by the fundamentall
Laws of this Realm, it is Treason in the King of England for the
time to come to leavy warre, against the Parliament, and Kingdom
of England.
Mr Elsynge, the clark of the house of Commons of late hath, been
ill disposed in body, and this day a letter acquainted the house
thereof, whereupon a committee was chose to nominate an able
Clark for that place, the said committee are also to take an accorspt
of Mr. Elsynge, the Books, and records belonging to the house and
to see them inventoryed and layd up safe.
Mr Darnell the clark assistant, was Ordered 200.l. in part of 500,
due to him, and Mr Phelps was voted to be clark assistant.
There do dayly come to the Lord Generall and the councell of
the army, Petitions incouraging the speedy effectuating of the,
settlement of the Kingdome in the way they are now in, and bringing
of capitall Delinquents to condigne punnishment, three came
came to this purpose from some countries and Garrisons in Wales
more from other parts.
