I Told you in may last of the Dissenters marching towards Bristoll.
It was this day certified that they continued about Burford a
Town scituate twelve miles beyond Oxford, and in the way to Bristoll
where they expected an addition of more Forces to come unto
them, And to carry on their Designes with the more Applause and
Vigor, they make profession that they did associate to ingage as it
became English men with swords in their hands to redeem themselves
and the Land of their Nativity; And upon this ingagement
they declared, that in the behalfe of the Common-wealth they will
lay aside all By-respects, and indeavour the actual Reliefe and Settlement
of this Nation upon that forme and method by way of an
Agreement of the people tendred as a peace-offering by Lieutenant
Collonel Lilburne, Mr. Walwyn, M. Prince and Mr. Overton
owning every part, and particular of the said agreement promising
to pursue to the utmost hazard of their lives, the prety and
full accomplishment thereof and to their power to protect and defend
all such as shall adhere thereunto, In which undertakings they
said they will faithfully discharge the utmost of their endeavours,
not sparing the Venture of all hardships whatsoever, and leave the
successe to God, desiring a new Parliament by an Agreement of the
people.
