AT Bourburg the English fortify strongly, the
Garrison it is most of English, and part of
French. Mardike they fortify more strongly:
they get daily recruits. They have made 5
Bulworks, as we hear. Many instruments are
brought hither, and strange Fire worlds are making ready to
endeavour so fire the Enemy out of Mardike: but it is uncertain
when we shall go to work about it. Don John is gone to
Ryssel, for to secure the Abby Uber Clave for us. It is no
more a trading Town, bur only a harbour for Sculdiers and
