to the Theatre raised on purpose, and made but 14 Knights
with the sword of Charls the Great, though many more expected
to be knighted. The way made from the Church
to the Romer was hanged with cloth of white, yellow, and
black colours, about 4000 Ells, and the Emperors Arms upon
it. The Church ceremonies being ended, his Imperiall Majesty
walked from the Church to the Romer, with a great
Train before and behind; and before his Majesty were carried
all the Ensignes of the Roman Empire; now when his Majesty
was come to the Romer with the Spiritual Electoral Princes,
he went with the said Princes to the Window, from whence
he might behold the Prince Elector of Saxony perform the
Ceremony concerning Oats, who went to the heap of Oats,
prepared in the street, and with a measure of Silver, and filled
it, and with the stricker strook it, and with great respect and
reverence poured the Oats out again: After that, the Hereditary
Officers; viz. the Count of Hooghenzollern carryed the
Ewer, the Elector of Saxony the Bason to wash, and the
Count of Zeyl brought a peice of the roasted Ox, and placed
on the Emperors Table. The Prince Palatine and the Imperiall
Treasurer the Count of Zintzendorp flung the pieces of
Gold and Silver coyned purposely for that day, among the
People. By and by; the Oats and the roasted Oxe was made
prize, Claret and White-wine ran out of three pipes for the
people to drink freely. At six of the clock in the afternoon,
his Imperiall Majesty was accompanied to his quarter by all
the Electoral Princes, and with joy, unitie, and satisfaction
they took their leave. In all this time, his Imperiall Majesty
behaved himself heroically, to the admiration of the Spectators.

We give you to understand, that Nashokin hath sent three
Troops of Horse to Wolmar, telling us, That he did it for
our good, to hinder the Polanders from stragling abroad.
And he hath sent Guards also to the Frontiers at Rodenpeis,
and other places, three or four leagues distant from hence.
He is mush offended at the answer which our Governor sent
