Mercurius politicus, Number 552, 27th January-3rd February 1659 E.761[10]

We hear from Marienburg, that Count Bengt Oxenstern
and two other Swedish persons of quality are sent to Thorn,
to put on the treaty of Peace with the King of Poland.
The French Ambassador Lord l'Ombres is very earnest
with the Crown of Poland for a Cessation of Arms for three
moneths, making no doubt but that he shall prevail with the
Swedish to condescend thereunto. We expect with the next
to hear more of it, because the Polanders are wholly inclined
for peace.
P. S. Now comes news, that the Brandenburgish forces
are come near unto Elbing, to have about with the garison
which came out of Thorn, and lies inquartered in the Suburbs
of Elbing.
