to examine the matters contained in them, and appointed
days for the further hearing and considering of the
rest; and all parties concerned or complained of, in any of
them, were at the said respective days appointed for hearing to
attend the said Grand-Committee.
Friday, March 4.
The House was informed that Sir Henry Wroth, who was sent
for as a Delinquent by order of the House, for assaulting one
of the Members of the House, was without at the door in the
Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, and being brought to the
Bar, Mr. Speaker informed him of the great abuse and violation
of the Priviledges of Parliament in assaulting the said
Member.
The said Sir Henry Wroth being at the Bar, gave the house an
account concerning the manner and occasion of what happened
between the said Member and himself; whereupon the
whole business was referred to the Examination of a Committee,
and the said Sir Henry Wroth was discharged of his imprisonment
upon his Bond to be given to the Serjeant at Arms
attending on the House for appearing before the said House,
or the said Committee for examination of the business, when
and as often as he should be thereunto required.
The House according to former Order proceeded in the
Debate, whether this House will transact with the persons
now sitting in the Other House, as an House of Parliament.
The Debate was adjourned untill to morrow morning eight
of the clock, and then to be proceeded on, and nothing to
intervene.
Saturday, March 5.
Mr. Thomas Strickland, who was chosen to serve as a Member
of Parliament for the Boroughs of Hedon, and Bevily in
the County of York, made his choice to serve for the Borough
of Beverley and waved his Election for Hedon.
Whereupon a new Writ was ordered to issue for the Election
of a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the said
Borough of Hedon, in the place of the said Mr. Strickland, and
Mr. Speaker was ordered to send his Warrant to the Clerk
