MAjor General overton, Colonel Rich, Colonel
Allured, and divers other Officers ejected the
Army by the late deceased Protector, went to
Wallingford House, and there declared to Lieutenant
General Fleetwood, that they were come
thither to clear themselves of a common Report raised against
them; namely, that they remained so dissatisfied with late
transactions, that the Army were not encouraged to believe
that they would go along with them in the prosecution of what
they had formerly and lately professed; by which meanes their
